The Balancing Act
I am a human female who feels ambivalent about having children. I don’t have the urge, don’t feel that my satisfaction or completeness as a human being is dependent on having offspring. Sometimes I want to know what it’s like, that experience, that love. That rush of brain chemicals that will bond me to another human irrevocably. Mostly I’m not interested. Maybe someday I...

On Hardship - by Clayton Cubitt
This is for the poor kids. The misfits. The neglected dreamers.
You sit in the back of the class because you’re ashamed of your hand-me-downs. You can’t afford glasses so you can’t see the board. You don’t have enough money for your own art supplies, and your school doesn’t supply them because all that money goes to the jocks, so you guiltily shoplift them. The entire machine you’re being pushed...
Feedback Cute - a play in one act
Kim: Why am I so tired?
Jim: Probably hard work being so cute all the time.
Kim: Haha
Jim: Which I think you’ll find is a problematic feedback loop because the more tired you get the cuter you get.
DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. I hate being called cute. I’m not cute. I’m wild. And dangerous.

I Am Going To A ROCKET LAUNCH!
I have been invited to the Antares Rocket Launch at the NASA Wallops facility in Virginia, April 14-17th.
After weighing the cost (in both time and money) against my current album release schedule and the fact that the rocket might not even launch due to delays… I have decided to go. Because I have to. Because ROCKET LAUNCH!
Because… SPACE!
I will be tweeting and writing about this publicly –...
Anatomy of a Decision
So, I got invited to the Antares Rocket launch at the Wallops Facility in Virginia. Which is amazing.
But now I face the decision, to go or not to go.
Obviously, the answer is to go. ROCKET LAUNCH!
Less obvious are the reasons not to go:
1) What I thought would be a 2 day event has turned out to be a 5 day trip and I am in the middle of “launching” my album, sending 1,000 packages to...

Study debunks notion that men and women are... →
sinidentidades:
The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology has dealt a devastating blow to the notion that men and women are fundamentally different when it comes to how they think and act.
“Although gender differences on average are not under dispute, the idea of consistently and inflexibly gender-typed individuals is,” Bobbi J. Carothers of Washington University in St. Louis and Harry...
You Will Be Rejected
You will be rejected by a girl or boy you like, a teacher, a parent, a friend. You will be rejected by an artist you admire, an audience you seek, a publisher you need. You will be rejected by your child, your pet, your client, your boss. You will be rejected by the person you need the most, when you need them the most. You will experience perceived rejection, where none is intended but you feel...

A Pledge To Make The World That Wouldn't Have...
Because I find myself profoundly affected by the death of someone I didn’t know - Aaron Swartz, activist and inspiring human - I have decided to pledge here, publicly, my intention to work towards a just world.
Because I know the terrible dissonance of seeing a world of beautiful possibly overlaid so closely atop the actual world. I know the pain of seeing how a few definitive actions...
